The Role

As Senior Manager, Public Affairs, you’ll take the lead in shaping and delivering our public affairs strategy, working with colleagues from across the Bank. The team holds broad stakeholder relationships which are key to the Bank’s operating context, including but not limited to Ministers, parliamentarians, think tanks, trade associations and both the domestic and international business and finance community.

In this role you will work to ensure that the Bank’s vast and evolving stakeholders understand and support our work.

You will have an interest in policy and public affairs and ideally some experience and knowledge of financial services / business. You can expect to:

* Lead high-profile projects that the Bank’s five year plan
* Deepen, broaden and maintain key relationships across Westminster, including with organisations that influence Westminster, with Devolved Administrations, and regional stakeholders.
* Provide strategic advice to senior leaders
* Be adept at writing high-quality communications e.g. speeches and select committee briefings
* Manage and develop team members
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related policy role - ideally with a strong network in Parliament and some experience in business.

You’ll bring:

* Deep understanding of UK political processes and current affairs
* Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex issues.
* Strong influencing and relationship-building skills
* Experience in leading multiple high-impact projects in a busy environment.
* Ability to lead and develop a team.
* Experience in financial services, investment markets, venture capital, pensions policy, or industrial strategy would be a plus, but is not essential.
