Job Description Summary
As the Senior Contract Manager, you will report directly to the Grid Solutions Regional Contract Management Leader and indirectly to the Project Director. You will work closely with the Project Team and hold overall responsibility for all contractual activities within the Projects portfolio.
Responsibilities
1. Analyze contracts thoroughly and develop the Project’s contract and commercial strategy in collaboration with the Project Director.
2. Present contractual analysis and commercial strategies to the Project Team, and prepare contract-related deliverables such as Contract Questionnaire and Contract Commercial Plan (CCP) following Contract Management processes.
3. Draft and communicate Claim and Variation Procedures to the Project Team.
4. Implement contractual procedures related to claims, insurance, variation orders, and correspondence.
5. Identify contractual obligations of GE, customers, consortium partners, and third parties, and develop the Project contract commercial plan, including claim strategies.
6. Support risk and opportunity management proactively.
7. Manage all contractual activities from sales handover through to completion and settlement of contractual issues.
8. Ensure timely notices in accordance with contract requirements.
9. Handle claims negotiations and settlements with customers and partners, including managing claims to/from contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
10. Oversee Project variation requests and insurance coverage, including claims management.
11. Provide contractual guidance and training to the Project team when needed.
12. Address contractual and legal inquiries, referring to Legal when necessary.
13. Support dispute resolution processes.
14. Report on claims, variations, and critical contractual issues to management and relevant stakeholders.
15. Obtain management approval for variation orders, amendments, and settlements as per Delegation of Authority.
Experience and Knowledge
1. Proven track record in claim preparation and negotiation, including strategies for EOT claims, global claims, and contract renegotiations.
2. Knowledge of delay analysis principles, including critical path and concurrent delay analysis.
3. Understanding of contract law and project risk management.
4. Technical understanding relevant to infrastructure projects, especially in power generation and transmission.
5. Experience with NEC and FIDIC contract models is preferred.
