Preston Lodge High School is a non-denominational secondary school serving the communities of Cockenzie, Port Seton, Longniddry, Blindwells, and Prestonpans. Our roll is currently 1060, and the school is easily accessible from Edinburgh. Our strengths include:
* The high morale, sense of belonging, and positive ethos of the school community
* The nurturing, inclusive work environment supporting young people's learning and wellbeing
* Strong, positive relationships between staff and students
Our dedicated staff, students, parents, carers, and community have worked tirelessly to improve all aspects of our school. Staff enjoy working here, and following a recent inspection, we are actively working on improvement areas with significant progress. The inspection highlighted our support for learners as a key strength, and improvements are ongoing.
We are a happy school with a positive culture and ethos. In uncertain times for education, we collaborate to provide the best possible education for our students.
Our focus is on continually improving classroom practices, developing student and staff learning, enhancing our curriculum, and closing the equity gap.
The Support for Learning team is strong, working closely with subject staff, Guidance, and Inclusion teams. The successful candidate will lead our Enhanced Learning Provision, Nurture provision, ASN Auxiliaries, and manage SQA Assessment Arrangements. It is a demanding but rewarding role, with substantial support available. We believe the right candidate will thrive here.
Further information about our Support for Learning team is available from our School Business Manager, Helen Findlay, via email at hfindlay@.org.
This is an exciting time for Support for Learning at Preston Lodge High School and the wider community. More about us can be found at .org/prestonlodgenet. We encourage you to explore our weekly PLus newsletter for insights into our school culture.
Applications are welcome from those interested in part-time roles. Please specify this in the Additional Information section of your application.
