School Caretaker - Split Shift
Location: Newham, East Ham, London (between two nearby schools)
Hours:
* Morning: 6:30am - 9:30am
* Afternoon/Evening: 3:00pm - 6:30pm
Contract: Ongoing / Long-term
Start: ASAP
About the Role
We are working with two friendly schools in East Ham who are looking for a reliable and hands-on School Caretaker to support the day-to-day running of their sites. This is a split-shift role, ideal for someone local and experienced in school or site management environments.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and securing the school buildings
Basic maintenance and minor repairs
Health & Safety checks and site inspections
Setting up rooms and halls as required
Grounds maintenance and litter picking
Supporting fire safety procedures and alarms
Liaising with school staff and contractors
Requirements
Previous caretaker or site assistant experience (school experience preferred)
Good understanding of Health & Safety
Reliable, punctual, and practical
Able to work independently across two sites
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
