Overview
As the Allocator, you’ll be responsible for the effective allocation and replenishment of stock across stores to maximise sales and availability. You’ll partner closely with the Merchandising team to ensure product is delivered to the right locations at the right time, supporting key trading periods and overall business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Allocate new product lines from depot to stores using planning data and historical sales to ensure optimal stock levels for each location.
* Maintain accurate system setups for all styles to support smooth stock flow from depot to stores.
* Demonstrate and sustain technical proficiency across all systems and processes relevant to the role.
* Analyse weekly sales performance, including rate of sale (ROS) and bestseller trends, and collaborate with the Stock Planning Team to determine next‑step actions for priority stores and lines.
* Prepare and deliver departmental reports and analyses to support the Store Stock Planning Team in decision‑making.
* Foster effective communication with Merchandising through regular meetings, promoting distribution strategies and alignment.
* Ensure data integrity and timely reporting, maintaining organised and accurate records for all distribution activities.
* Support team capability by training and developing new Allocators, ensuring consistent standards and best practices.
* Visit stores to understand the impact of allocations and replenishment, and assess store stock profiles for continuous improvement.
* Maintain commercial awareness, staying informed about the evolving role of retail on the High Street and monitoring competitor activity.
Qualifications
* Operational skills relevant for this job: Stock Allocation & Replenishment – ensuring correct product placement and timely replenishment to meet customer demand.
* Excellent team player with strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across departments.
* Clear and effective communicator, gathering information to make better‑informed decisions.
* Builds positive relationships with own team members and other functions.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
* Demonstrated ability to exhibit personal attributes aligned with role requirements, including attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving.
* Genuine interest and enthusiasm for fashion retailing and industry trends.
* Strong numerical and logical reasoning skills, essential for stock allocation and analysis tasks.
* Proven ability to work independently with self‑motivation while effectively collaborating under management direction.
