Job Title: HGV Technician\nLocation: Reading\nSalary: £47,000 per annum\nWorking Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift \n \nJob Description We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team at a well-established commercial vehicle workshop based in Reading. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive £47,000 annual salary and a Monday to Friday day shift, providing excellent work-life balance.\n As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of a range of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they meet DVSA standards and are roadworthy.\n Key Responsibilities\nPerform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs to manufacturer and legal standards.\nDiagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.\nConduct MOT preparations, inspections, and ensure compliance with DVSA regulations.\nComplete service documentation and job cards accurately and timely.\nCollaborate with colleagues and supervisors to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.\nMaintain a clean and safe working environment and adhere to health and safety procedures.Requirements\nLevel 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (essential).\nProven experience working as an HGV Technician / Mechanic.\nGood knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and fault-finding techniques.\nFull UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).\nStrong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Benefits\nCompetitive salary of £47,000 per annum\nMonday to Friday daytime hours – no weekends or night shifts\n28 days holiday including bank holidays\nPension scheme\nOngoing training and development opportunities\nModern, well-equipped workshop environment \n How to Apply: If you are a motivated and experienced professional looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
