Job overview An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for people with a genuine interest in healthcare and patient safety to become part of the team within the Hospital Sterilisation and Decontamination Unit (HSDU) we provide operating theatres, wards and departments with surgical instruments and medical devices required for sterile procedures. This job role supports the clinical and surgical teams in the provision of excellent, high quality and safe patient care. Hours of posts: 37.5 hours per week - part time will be considered Working pattern: Post 1:-Tuesday night 9pm-7am, Wednesday night 9pm - 7am, Thursday night 9pm-7am, Friday night 9pm-6.30am Post 2:- Wednesday to Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm The role will also require some flexibility with cross-site working between the Trust's two acute hospitals; Eastbourne District General Hospital and Conquest Hospital, therefore the ability to travel between sites independently is required Main duties of the job We are looking for applicants who are able to demonstrate good manual dexterity, maintain high levels of attention to detail, possess good written and verbal skills and be capable of interacting with staff at all levels on a day-to-day basis. You must be enthusiastic, have a good general education and have the ability to follow instructions and processes. Experience of working in Sterile Services would be advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be given. The successful individual will become proficient, through training, in providing quality sterilised goods to both Internal and External Customers.
