We are seeking a highly motivated Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic and supportive team within the 0-18 West Cheshire Children and Young People's Mental Health Service.
About the role:
* In this role, you will play a pivotal role inassessing, treating, and supportingchildren and young people (aged 0-18) experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.
* You will work collaboratively within amulti-disciplinary teamalongside other mental health professionals, social workers, and education staff.
* We provide a comprehensive range ofevidence-based interventions, including individual therapy, group work, and family therapy.
* You will be expected to deliverassessment, consultation, and a variety of therapeutic interventionstailored to the specific needs of your clients.
* We particularly welcome applications from psychologists with an interest infamily therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),in addition to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
* You will receiveexcellent clinical supervisionfrom our experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist and have the opportunity tocollaborate with colleagues in the community Eating Disorder team.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Psychologist in 0-18 Children and Young People's mental health teams you will assess, and treat mental health issues in children and adolescents.
You will collaborate with various professionals and play a crucial role in promoting child and adolescent mental well-being.
This includes individual and family therapy, as well as consultation and collaboration with educators, other mental health professionals, and external specialists.
You will also contribute to service development, research, and advocacy efforts.

Essential
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, as accredited by the BPS
* HCPC registration
Desirable
* Prequalification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
* Skills in conducting complex psychological assessment and intervention frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
* Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
Desirable
* Knowledge of psychological techniques to treat a range of disorders with specific reference to difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc).
* High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
