Cadent Gas Ltd Driving robust financial reporting We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Finance team on a 15-month secondment. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our balance sheet reporting processes are robust, accurate, and compliant, while supporting key decisions across the business. This is a specialist role that offers challenge, development, and the chance to work closely with teams across Finance and external stakeholders. Balance Sheet Leadership – Lead the monthly balance sheet review process, focusing on key risk areas such as fixed assets, working capital, and treasury balances. Audit Management – Manage the balance sheet external audit process, resolving queries and ensuring compliance. Consolidated Reporting – Assist with monthly Group reporting, close cycles, and consolidation system operations. Governance & Compliance – Document end-to-end processes and controls, ensuring adherence to statutory and internal frameworks. Technical Expertise – Maintain accounting policies and provide expert advice across the business. Continuous Improvement – Support change initiatives and contribute to building a highly motivated, customer-focused Finance team. What You'll Bring You’re a qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP Experience in risk and internal control frameworks Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly Skilled in planning, organisation, and report writing Prior exposure to consolidation systems and/or SAP/BPC Experience in financial reporting and close process management Looking to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic environment?
