Job Duties:
1. Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
2. Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students
3. Help students with their learning and development, including personal care if required
4. Support students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
5. Work collaboratively with the teaching staff and other professionals to create a positive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
6. Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
7. SEN Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience
8. Valid DBS check
Education:
GCSEs in English and Maths
Experience:
Prior experience working with children with special educational needs
Knowledge and Skills:
9. Understanding of SEN strategies and techniques
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
12. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with SEN
Preferred Qualifications:
13. Higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) qualification
14. First aid certification
Working Conditions:
15. Typical school hours, Monday to Friday
16. Work within a classroom setting
17. Potential requirement to assist with outdoor activities or school trips
