Pharmacy Informatics Lead

Location: Cromwell Hospital, 164-178 Cromwell Road, London SW5

Permanent

Salary range: £ Competitive

Full time 37.50 hours per week, Onsite.

Pharmacy services run Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 8.00pm and Saturday: 08:30am to 2.30pm

How you will help us make health happen:

We are looking to appoint an exceptional driven individual to lead the Pharmacy Systems team at Cromwell Hospital. You will report to the Chief Pharmacist, whilst working closely with other department leaders in the pharmacy.

You will be responsible for successfully managing Pharmacy digital systems for pharmacy services and the hospital to enable safe patient care, efficient stock maintenance, ensuring adherence to pharmacy service agreements and pricing contracts. You will support the drug dictionary validations for critical care Philipps ICCA.

You will work closely with our IT department to ensure the continued functioning of all Pharmacy systems as well as lead on pharmacy system integration and upgrade projects. Data and informatics ability to produce accurate department financial reporting for KPI / Management Accounts and Executive Team.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have proven profession in Pharmacy Informatics in a hospital setting (NHS or Private). You will be dynamic, approachable with exceptional IT skills, professional, diligent, have superb attention to detail, time management, and leadership skills.

1. You will be a trained as a Ascribe System Manager, develop and enhance the system, ensure accuracy via regular housekeeping tasks, maintaining drug files, system integrity checks and access recertification and other software tasks as appropriate.
2. Maintain accurate financial pricing and contract management, with daily price update procedures within Compucare. To manage losses and gains within the Ascribe system and ensure accurate invoice management via GenFin interface. Work with Genpact team to resolve issues and ensure on time payment schedules.
3. Manage the implementation of upgrades of the pharmacy stock management and other pharmacy IT systems, including training, and updating of SOPs.
4. Ensure that all staff trained are effective in the use of all pharmacy IT systems.
5. Consult with financial auditors and stock takers, regarding stockholding and ordering processes.
6. Consult with the IT department to ensure the continued functioning of all Pharmacy systems, provision of logins and development of new IT based solutions.
7. Manage pharmacy archive function, ensuring prescriptions / archived pharmacy documentation is maintained and stored appropriately in accordance with the law, on site as well as in outside storage facilities. Ensure documentation and procedures are updated regularly.
8. Consult with clinical pharmacists and the ward/clinical department manager to ensure non-Pyxis stock items are regularly updated and kept at appropriate levels and where necessary charges posted appropriately.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

9. Qualified Pharmacist
10. Experience of working in a pharmacy informatics role and proven experience in the development and support of IT systems, systems upgrades and integrations within a health care setting to include implementing/problem solving.
11. Recent, relevant experience working in a UK hospital pharmacy setting.
12. Proven leadership experience, managing a team and successfully supervising and training.
13. Ability to learn innovative technologies with minimum supervision.
14. Ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
15. Skilled and experience of analysing financial drug expenditure information to evaluate prescribing trends Able to author reports and procedures.
16. clinical / pharmacy IT systems. - Desirable
17. System Manager trained Ascribe – Desirable
18. System manager trained BD Pyxis, electronic QMS- Desirable
19. Experience of implementing and working with EPMA system(s)- Desirable
