<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>The Property & Investment team of Portsmouth City Council manages a multi‑million‑pound portfolio of over £1 billion across the UK, including the Lakeside Northarbour office campus, Dunsbury Park, Hilsea‑Limberline, Portsmouth Retail Park, Portsmouth International Port and leisure facilities along Southsea seafront.</p><p>As part of an award‑winning team – commercial landlord of the year 2024 – you will contribute to managing these assets cost‑effectively and fostering quality relationships with tenants.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Valuation of all types of property.</li><li>Revenue and capital income generation.</li><li>Commercial landlord and tenant work – rent reviews, lease renewals, etc.</li><li>Management of your own portfolio of properties.</li></ul><p>You will spend about a third of your time out of the office, engaging face‑to‑face with customers, and will be expected to have flexible working hours.</p><p>Experienced chartered surveyors will support you towards your APC, providing time for portfolio development and practical experience.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Near completion of a degree or an acceptable qualification qualifying for RICS APC in commercial or valuation disciplines.</li><li>Demonstrated technical knowledge from studies and a practical, common‑sense approach to property matters.</li><li>Strong desire to learn on the job and obtain full membership of RICS through the APC.</li><li>Enthusiasm for varied projects, income generation, and challenging existing work practices.</li><li>Full manual driving licence for frequent travel within the area (pool vehicles available).</li></ul><h3>Benefits and Working Arrangements</h3><ul><li>Hybrid working – expected to attend the office a minimum of two days a week at full‑time; flexible for part‑time.</li><li>Support for APC progression from experienced chartered surveyors.</li><li>Opportunity to widen and deepen surveying knowledge across a broad range of properties.</li></ul><h3>Equal Opportunities and EEO</h3><p>We are a disability‑confident employer and meet the Armed Forces Covenant gold standard.
