What we'll need you to bring
1. Professional qualification i.e. HNC in a relevant discipline (Business Admin/Secretarial Studies/Public Administration) or equivalent previous experience in a secretarial role (ie at least 5 years experience as a department/personal secretary)
2. Well-developed interpersonal skills in customer care.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Good organisational and planning skills.
5. Understanding of a range of procedures and processes.
6. Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure.
7. Proficient I.T. skills, which include a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
8. Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
9. Previous experience working in a health or social care setting
10. Previous experience of setting up new Service and/or working methods
11. Experience working in customer care or patient care
12. Experience training and presenting
13. Knowledge of general IT concepts and windows-based computers, laptops and peripherals
14. Ability to troubleshoot and solve computer and printer related problems and install/upgrade software
15. Ability to use initiative to make decisions

Secondment until 31/03/2026

Please note this is a fixed term post until 31/03/2026. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location
This role will be based in MHLD&A Management Team within Netherton House.
