Our client, a leading brand in womenswear, is seeking a dynamic Head of Garment Tech to lead the technical design process for their product range. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise, thriving in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Note: This role requires relocation to Amsterdam.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of garment technologists and technical designers to deliver high-quality garments.
* Oversee the technical design process from concept to production, ensuring accurate translation of designs into finished products.
* Manage fit testing, fabric selection, garment construction, and quality control to meet specifications.
* Collaborate with design, production, and merchandising teams for seamless development and delivery.
* Drive innovation in garment technology, staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production to minimize delays.
* Ensure garments meet quality, fit, and functionality standards while maintaining brand integrity.
* Align technical strategies with business goals in partnership with senior leadership.
Key Requirements:
* Extensive experience in garment technology, including pattern-making, fabric selection, construction, and quality control.
* Proven leadership in managing technical teams in a fast-paced fashion environment.
* Strong understanding of garment fit, construction, and production techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving skills for technical challenges.
* Effective communication and leadership abilities.
* Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
* A passion for fashion and commitment to quality and innovation.
* Degree or equivalent in fashion technology, garment design, or related field preferred.
