About Our Client
Our client is a private Developer with a fantastic track record over the last 30 years delivering bespoke designed housing and apartment-led schemes throughout London and the South East. Projects can range from 10 units through to 150 units, and some larger multi-phase developments. All are bespoke designed and have a high-level of input from the Design & Technical team. The team consists of some excellent individuals who have both plc and private developer experience, and the flat structure will ensure a brilliant platform to get involved across many aspects of projects.
Job Description
As the Design Manager you will have the opportunity to work across stages 1-7 on multiple residential schemes. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting site acquisition and due diligence activities for new schemes
* Submission or review and re-submission of planning to optimise schemes as required
* Assistance with design briefs and appointment of consultants
* Ongoing coordination of design and technical information with the design team, including subcontractors/suppliers
* During construction to engage with the site team for delivery solutions, RFIs, etc. as well as coordination of compliance elements
The Successful Applicant
A successful Design Manager should have:
* A project-running Architecture or Senior Technologist background
* Residential project experience (housing and apartment schemes preferred, housing non-negotiable)
* A background in running projects from Stage 3 onwards (1-7 is advantageous)
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* An ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

This role is offered as a 12 month contract with the potential to become a permanent role. You will be required to work in the central London office at least 4 days per week with 1 day spent on site.
