5wte B4 MHST Support Worker
Positions based in the Black Country: 2wte with the Walsall team (Canalside, Abbotts Street, Bloxwich, WS3 3AZ), 1wte with the Sandwell team (48 Lodge Road, West Bromwich, B70 8NY), 1wte with the Wolverhampton team (The Gem Centre, Neachells Lane, Wednesfield, WV11 3PG), and 1wte with the Dudley team (The Elms Heath Centre, Slade Road, Halesowen, B63 2UR). All posts based in their localities may at times require Black Country working dependent on service need.
We have an exciting opportunity for a support worker to join our MHST in the Black Country. This is a new post which will support the qualified practitioners within the team with a whole school approach including group activities, delivered within schools and colleges throughout the Black Country to young people demonstrating need for support with their emotional health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Work closely alongside a team of mental health professionals delivering a wide range of evidence informed interventions.
* Develop and practice evidence-based skills under supervision to work with children, young people and families.
* Develop and practice evidence-based skills to carry out whole school approach activities including groups.
* Carry out observations of young people within various settings which may lead to a diagnosis.
* Support co-production as well as the use of social media within the service.
Qualifications and requirements
* The Education Mental Health Practitioner is required to demonstrate and evidence knowledge of the education system.
* Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others.
* Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders.
* Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties.
