About the Role
A leading organisation in the manufacturing and engineering sector is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join their team in the West Midlands, UK. This is a key role responsible for overseeing financial operations, driving month-end close efficiency, and ensuring accurate reporting using Sage accounting software.
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in financial management, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead and develop a small team within a flexible and growing business environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily finance operations (AP, AR, general ledger)
* Prepare financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations
* Lead month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
* Analyse variances vs. AOP and forecasts for senior leadership
* Use Sage for financial processing and reporting; resolve issues
* Train team members on Sage tools and best practices
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
* Coordinate with auditors and ensure financial compliance
* Lead and develop a team of three; promote accuracy and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role
* Strong command of Sage software and month-end close processes
* Advanced proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Excel
* Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling tools
* Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
