A growing and forward-thinking independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take ownership of varied audit assignments while continuing to develop technically and progress their career within a supportive environment.
The Role
This position is predominantly audit-focused, with the remainder of your time spent on accounts preparation and tax computations.
You will take responsibility for audit assignments from planning through to completion, working with a portfolio of mainly owner-managed businesses. The role combines technical delivery with client engagement, offering real variety and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
* Undertaking detailed risk assessments and audit strategy planning
* Supervising and reviewing work produced by junior team members
* Ensuring audit files are fully completed and compliant with standards
* Preparing statutory accounts and supporting tax computations
* Liaising directly with clients to gather information and build strong working relationships
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements and added value for clients
* Working closely with senior management, receiving ongoing technical guidance and support
About You
The successful candidate will be a confident and technically strong practice professional who enjoys working in a client-facing audit environment.
Requirements:
* ACA or ACCA fully qualified
* Minimum 3 years’ experience within UK accountancy practice
* Proven experience planning and delivering audits of varying size and complexity
* Strong technical knowledge with a proactive and organised approach
* Experience supervising or reviewing junior staff desirable
