About The Role
PD&MS Group has a great opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our progressive Finance team based in Aberdeen on a full-time basis.
The Purchase Ledger Assistant will provide accurate data entry to the Purchase Ledger, adhere to accounting controls and procedures, assist in maintaining supplier relationships, and produce reports as required.
We are seeking candidates with experience in a similar finance role or recent finance qualification holders seeking their first role; full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
1. Process and pay all contractor invoices and expenses
2. Process and pay all third-party invoices
3. Handle employee expense claims
4. Maintain spreadsheets and update logs and records
5. Ensure invoices are authorized before payment
6. Maintain audit trails and archive documents
7. Resolve debit balances on vendor accounts
8. Assist with self-billing routines
9. Manage external supplier queries
10. Complete and file vendor forms
11. Assist with new supplier credit applications
12. Maintain vendor records in Sage 200 and BankLine
13. Record VAT accurately and perform VAT checks on new suppliers
14. Reconcile supplier statements
15. Generate weekly supplier payments
16. Resolve internal invoice queries
17. Assist other finance department areas as needed
18. Maintain professional development and competency requirements
19. Adhere to the company's management system and policies
20. Promote and demonstrate PD&MS QHSE principles
21. Challenge unsafe activities and promote safety standards
22. Follow best practice standards and procedures
23. Uphold PD&MS core values
About You
Qualification / Training
* Educated to Standard Grade level or equivalent, with passes in Mathematics and English
Experience / Competence
* Experience with corporate systems like Sage
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
* Experience in a similar role
* Excellent written and spoken English
