Job Summary
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the organisation. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and mitigating risks.
Duties
* Develop and implement health and safety policies in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
* Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, incidents, and compliance issues.
* Lead investigations into accidents or near misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
* Provide training and support to staff on health and safety procedures, including first aid training.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Monitor the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents, and training sessions.
Experience
* Proven experience in a health and safety management role or similar position.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
* Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly to various stakeholders.
* Familiarity with first aid practices is highly desirable.
* Strong analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis to enhance workplace safety.
