Commercial Gas Installation Engineer

Location: Within 100-mile radius of Stoke-on-Trent (covering social housing, extra care facilities, and other commercial sites)
Salary: Starting from £44,720 - £50,000 per annum, plus project completion bonus
Additional Pay: Out-of-hours retention payment up to £1,400, with overtime paid at 1.5x standard hourly rate

Benefits:
Pay review after successful probation, with annual review each March

28 days holiday (including 8 bank holidays)

1 day of birthday leave per year after 12 months of service

The Opportunity
An exciting new opportunity has opened for an experienced and motivated Commercial Gas Installation Engineer to join a forward-thinking and expanding business. This is a brand-new position within their growing Commercial Division, created to meet the rising demand for projects across the region.
This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of installations, from domestic boilers to large industrial heating plantrooms. The Role
Youll be responsible for installing a wide range of gas and mechanical systems, including boilers, water heaters, and complete plantrooms. The work is diverse and rewarding, combining technical precision with the satisfaction of seeing projects through from start to finish. While your main focus will be on installations, youll also provide valuable support to the service and maintenance team when needed, ensuring seamless project delivery across all departments.
The role may occasionally require staying away from home, but this is infrequent and planned in advance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage your own installation team to achieve high-quality project delivery and completion.

Collaborate with project managers and administrators to coordinate schedules and ensure smooth project execution.

Complete full gas and mechanical installations for plantrooms, including refurbishments and new builds.

Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate material selection and installation.

Carry out installations of commercial gas and plumbing systems to the highest safety and quality standards.

Diagnose and rectify any installation issues quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.

Conduct safety, leak, and emissions testing in compliance with current legislation.

Communicate clearly with clients, providing updates and addressing any queries in a professional manner.

Complete all required documentation or app-based forms promptly for installations and project handovers.

Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical knowledge and stay current with regulations.

Provide engineering support during emergencies and follow Gas Safe guidelines, including issuing warning notices when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements
Valid Gas Safety and Commercial Gas Tickets: CCN1, COCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, DAH1, CODNCO1, CORT1, ICPN1, CIGA1, and TPCP1A.

F-GAS and catering qualifications (desirable).

Full UK driving licence.

Proven knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, gas systems, and controls.

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

L8 Awareness required.

Knowledge of SFG20 (desirable).

Electrical skills or relevant qualifications (desirable).
