Wood is recruiting for a core position on Harbour as a Materials Controller. This role is on a 2 week on, 10 week off rota. As part of this role, you will be expected to manage the movement, storage and control of all materials and equipment to and from site in accordance with all legislative requirements.
Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibilities :
1. Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with the Client’s HS&E policy, procedures and Safety Management System.
2. Comply with all relevant Wood HS&E policies and procedures where appropriate.
3. Actively participate and support all Client and Wood Group Health, Safety & Environmental plans, initiatives and improvements.
4. Carry out all activities in accordance with ISSOW including the following:
5. Comprehensive and detailed Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks
6. Stop and re-asses any job where change is identified
7. Work preparation
8. Report all concerns, accidents and incidents.
9. Carry out Emergency Response duties in accordance with Company / Client’s requirements.
10. Maintain and control Safety Equipment.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities of Role:
11. Mark-up all large / heavy oncoming cargo making it clear to the deck-foreman of its final location.
12. Ensure all other material and equipment is checked on arrival prior to being taken to a dedicated locked storage area.
13. Be the responsible dedicated key holder for the stores and any external storage areas.
14. Ensure the stores and any external storage areas are locked at all times and be present when any items are being taken from external storage areas.
15. Issue tools and equipment from the main store hatch only as there is to be strictly no general admittance into the main stores without the Services Supervisor approval.
16. Log relevant work-order numbers and recipient names when issuing tools and equipment.
17. Backload High Rental Equipment ASAP after completion of work.
18. Ensure material traceability and tracking is kept up to date and to a very high standard.
19. Monitor and maintain supplies and platform stock levels.
20. Order all materials required to satisfy operational requirements.
21. Ensure all material and equipment purchased delivers the best value, seeking the necessary approvals where appropriate.
22. Prepare equipment for transport and complete documentation in accordance with the relevant regulations for shipment of goods.
23. Conduct inventory control and stock checks and minimise inventory where appropriate.
24. Responsible for effective control of backload and off-hiring process.
25. Take responsibility for the management of the HAVS system.
26. Provide accurate information to planning processes to support delivery of work plans.
27. Whenever possible provide relevant cost information and reports to site department to enable accurate budget control.
28. Update and maintain the materials management system when required.
29. Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried
out at shift and crew change.
30. Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in cost or time without loss of integrity and present idea(s) to management.
31. Support and improve own and team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices and actively participating in supervisory workshops.
32. Participate in Wood competence scheme including any multi skilled element in accordance with relevant competence framework.
33. Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success.
34. Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict.
35. Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels.
36. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace.
