A well‑established Cambridge accountancy practice is recruiting a Semi‑Senior or Senior Accountant to join its growing team. Proud of its reputation as a growing firm within the area, this is a brand‑new role ready to welcome an accounting professional looking for progression, client exposure, and long‑term stability within a supportive firm.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare year‑end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
* Draft statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and FRS 102/105.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
* Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients within varied industries.
* Assisting with corporation tax computations and returns.
* Producing management accounts and reporting for clients.
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
* Liaising directly with clients and handling queries professionally.
* Exposure to audit work if a combined audit/accounts journey is your focus.
What We're Looking For
* AAT Level 4 qualified or ACCA / ACA part‑qualified or qualified.
* 2+ years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
* Experience managing multiple client files and liaising directly with clients.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills – a natural diligence and organised approach.
* Confidence working with varied workloads and requirements.
* Previous experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Quickbooks, CCH, Sage.
