Utilita, the Energy supplier of the year 2025, invites you to join our award‑winning Field Services team to be upskilled as a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer.
We offer a fully funded 8‑week training and upskilling course at one of our accredited training facilities. You will obtain your Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Power and EUSR accreditation.
Salary & Incentives
Starting salary: £35,094 (increases to £38,993 after training and assessments).
When qualified, you will receive a base salary of £38,993 (plus £2,000 London weighting) and an additional £330 per week for on‑call duties (average 1 in 5 weeks), giving a potential OTE of £42,293 per annum.
You can earn an industry‑leading meter installation bonus: £25 per meter or £50 for a dual once you have installed a minimum of four meters in a day. Overtime on Sunday is also enhanced.
Role Overview
Following the 8‑week training programme, your day‑to‑day will involve:
* Installing domestic gas and electric meters in line with industry and company rules and regulations.
* Testing meters and equipment once installed to ensure they meet industry standards.
* Picking up and dropping off used and new meters to designated warehouses.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Hold an in‑date CCN1 and/or CMA1 or equivalent qualification with at least 6 months remaining.
* At least 6 months experience working as a gas engineer.
* Will receive a company vehicle; therefore, you must hold a full UK driving licence.
