Supply Chain Manager Operations, Finance, Asset Defence Sector

Location: Portsmouth, Gosport, Hants - 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH
One of the UK's largest and most progressive commercial outsourcing companies to the Government, Defence, Public, and Commercial sectors is seeking a Supply Chain Manager, with experience across Operational, Programme/Finance Workstreams, and management of Equipment and Assets.
The candidate will either hold or be able to attain SC Level clearance and will work on-site 3 days a week at defence establishments in Portsmouth and Gosport, with 2 days WFH.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Manage Business As Usual supplier activity for strategically important Supply Chain Partners, including obligations management, change management, and contract conformance, with some contracts valued at circa GBP20m per annum.
2. Manage Business As Usual supplier activity for Training Equipment support and maintenance Suppliers, with contracts valued at circa GBP1m per annum.
3. Provide commercial input to operational workstreams (including IT, Equipment, and Asset Management) as directed by the Senior Commercial Manager, including supply chain management of smaller suppliers.
4. Lead procurement activities supporting the Equipment function, including ongoing change activity in the Royal Navy Submarine Training School (RNSTC) programme.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a commercial professional operating in complex contract environments with excellent communication skills.
* Experience in commercial and contract management, including drafting subcontracts, with a track record in pre- and post-contract activities in a highly governed environment.
* Strong commercial acumen to guide senior leadership decisions.
* Experience leading procurement activities in equipment or complex services sectors.
* Team player with a collaborative working style.
* Effective influencer with the ability to provide credible, pragmatic, and commercial solutions.
* Resilient, positive approach to conflict resolution without damaging relationships.
* Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to use data for decision-making.
* Ability to manage high workload demands and prioritize effectively within time constraints.
* Flexibility to work across a wide geographical area and experience working in a multi-site/mobile environment, including remote work.
