Community Mental Health Healthcare Assistant - DOPMH Penzance
Band 3, Main area: Mental Health Healthcare Assistant. Contract: Permanent. Hours: Part time — 22.5 hours per week. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Site: Edward Bolitho House, Penzance. Job ref: 201-25-635-A. Salary: £24,937 - £26,598 per annum. Salary period: Yearly. Closing: 21/10/2025 23:59.
The successful applicant will join the Dementia & Older People Mental Health (DOPMH) team and work with an MDT to support patients in the community, either in their home or a care placement setting. The role involves delivering time-specific care in line with individual care plans.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide Mental Health Services to an identified caseload of service users.
* Provide a range of services including practical and emotional support as indicated by individual care plans.
* Support patients and their carers in their homes or care settings; deliver care-coordinator led contacts.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
* Essential: NVQ3 in healthcare or equivalent qualification/experience
* Essential: GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
Skills and Aptitude
* Essential: Ability to communicate with a wide range of professionals
* Essential: Ability to own problems and contribute to solutions
* Essential: IT literacy
Desirable
* Experience working in a community setting in statutory or voluntary sector
