About the Role
We're supporting a high-growth, internationally expanding business as they prepare for a US stock market listing. To help them navigate this critical phase, we're looking for a commercially sharp Interim Financial Controller with US listing experience to bolster their finance function and ensure IPO-readiness from both a technical and operational standpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a key finance lead in the IPO workstream, supporting CFO and external advisors through the listing process
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX readiness
Lead technical accounting reviews and help prepare required financial statements, disclosures, and audit documentation
Strengthen internal controls and improve financial reporting processes to meet US public company standards
Partner with cross-functional teams (legal, tax, IR, etc.) to align financial operations with listing requirements
Support the build-out of a scalable finance function for life as a public company
Manage and coordinate the external audit process, including PCAOB audit standards
Provide ad hoc strategic financial input to the executive team and board
What We're Looking For
Proven experience supporting a company through a US IPO or direct listing
Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC filings, and SOX compliance
ACA/CPA or equivalent qualification with a strong technical accounting background
Experience working with US advisors, auditors, and legal counsel
Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with lots of moving parts
Able to operate hands-on when needed, but also step up to board-level conversations
Nice to Have
Experience in high-growth tech, life sciences, or clean energy sectors
Big 4 background and/or prior public company experience
Familiarity with dual reporting (e.g., IFRS and US GAAP)
