About the role
We are seeking a experienced Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in building and construction industry to play a pivotal role in managing and delivering our tendering and quantity surveying activities. You’ll be responsible for leading the bid process, preparing accurate costings, and ensuring compliance with company governance. Working collaboratively across Cormac and the wider Corserv divisions, you’ll use your commercial acumen and persuasive communication to drive quality, efficiency, and business growth.
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities, work to exacting deadlines, and contribute to the strategic development of Cormac’s four-year plan for commercial growth.
What You’ll Do
1. Lead the management, planning, and production of innovative, solution-led tenders to drive business success.
2. Prepare detailed costings, estimates, and Bills of Quantities for tenders up to £M in value.
3. Manage monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports and financial forecasts.
4. Coordinate bid contributors across the business and ensure submissions meet governance and quality standards.
5. Negotiate with supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing.
6. Oversee interim applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts to ensure strong cash flow.
7. Liaise with Business Directors to agree on final tender figures and submit compliant returns.
8. Support the strategic growth of the business through industry insight, process improvement, and innovation.
9. Act as an ambassador for Cormac Construction, representing the business at tender interviews and client meetings.
10. Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices across all tendering and estimating activities.

About You
You’ll bring a decisive, collaborative, and forward-thinking approach, with the ability to balance commercial priorities and operational needs effectively.
Essential qualifications and experience:
11. Degree or HNC (minimum) in a construction-related discipline or equivalent experience.
12. Proven experience in estimating and quantity surveying within construction (refurbishment and new build).
13. Strong knowledge of tendering, procurement, and bid management processes.
14. Experience preparing and managing CVRs, outturn forecasts, and project financials.
15. Excellent understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms and standard methods of measurement.
16. Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Office.
17. Demonstrable success in client and stakeholder relationship management.
18. CSCS card and full UK driving licence required.
