Job Title: Workshop Service Engineer
We are seeking a keen and experienced service engineer, fitter, technician, or mechanic to join our team at Nationwide Platforms.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals experienced in powered access engineering, or those with backgrounds as car mechanics, plant fitters, or similar, looking to explore a different field.
Role Overview
As a Workshop Service Engineer, you will work within a busy depot to inspect, repair, and maintain our machines, ensuring they are ready for customer use. Our fleet includes powered access machines such as booms and scissor lifts. Full training will be provided. If you have a positive attitude, are eager to learn, and possess mechanical or electrical engineering experience, this could be the perfect role for you.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5.30pm.
Responsibilities
* Support the Depot Service Manager in the effective operation of the workshop.
* Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines at client sites and depots, ensuring compliance with manufacturer’s specifications, company policies, and safety regulations. Report any defects or safety concerns.
* Repair machines at depot or on-site to meet manufacturer standards and company policies.
* Carry out planned maintenance and maintain the fleet's appearance to corporate standards.
* Handover machines to customers and instruct them on safe operation procedures.
* Represent the company professionally, providing high-quality customer service and relaying customer queries to depot staff.
* Complete all relevant paperwork accurately, including reports, off-hire, and inspection sheets.
* Update system records for machine status changes, such as PDI completion, repairs, or statutory inspections.
Candidate Requirements
* Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
* Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics, and fault diagnostics.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and maintain a mature outlook.
* Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
