The Old Deanery in Ripon is one of Yorkshire's newest and most exciting dining experiences, having re-branded as a "restaurant with rooms" with award winning chef, Adam Jackson since November 2023; winning 3 AA Rosettes in September 2024; and becoming Michelin Recommended in January 2025.
Our signature evening tasting menu is served Thursday to Saturday, as well as lunch and afternoon tea. We serve a fantastic (busy) Sunday lunch on Sundays, and we are also open from lunchtime on Wednesdays for drinks and overnight stays. The Old Deanery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The successful applicant will have normal working hours of 4 days a week, Thursday to Sunday, and the hours will be (roughly) 11am to 11pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sundays. Approximately 42-48 hours per week. A degree of flexibility is required based on the needs of the business as we do occasionally host special events outside of these hours and your weekly rota may therefore change on occasion.
As Pastry Chef De Partie, the main responsibilities will be bread-making, and making desserts for the tasting menu. The ideal candidate will have good skills with chocolate, and a good understanding of modern cooking techniques.
Experience in a high level kitchen is preferable, as is experience with baking and bread making. The ideal candidate will have good time-keeping skills, attention to detail, good organisational skills, flexibility, and most importantly a passion for fresh, home-made, local, seasonal, and exciting food.
£26,000 - £30,000 p/a (depending on age of applicant) + service charge + tips
