Accounts Payable and Receivable Manager

£50,000 to £55,000 per year
If you're someone who genuinely enjoys bringing structure, control and clarity to transactional finance, this Accounts Payable and Receivable Manager role offers real ownership. You'll take the lead across AP, AR and cash processes, ensuring money in and out of the business is handled accurately, on time and with minimal risk exposure.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Milton Keynes within the Financial Services sector, giving you the chance to manage end-to-end processes while working closely with operational and finance stakeholders.
As Accounts Payable and Receivable Manager, you won't just oversee processing. You'll drive improvements, strengthen controls and act as the go‑to person for all things transactional.
What you'll be doing
* Overseeing the full Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycle
* Managing bank reconciliations and cash allocation processes
* Leading balance sheet reconciliations and resolving aged items
* Ensuring month‑end deadlines are met accurately and consistently
* Acting as main contact for transactional queries across the business
* Supporting quarterly VAT return preparation and submission
* Strengthening internal controls and maintaining audit‑ready documentation
* Coaching and guiding Accounts Assistants within the team
* Working cross‑functionally to ensure smooth handling of customer payments and refunds
What we’re looking for
* Strong experience running AP and AR processes in a busy finance environment
* Confident managing reconciliations and clearing complex ledger items
* Comfortable improving processes and tightening controls
* Clear communicator who can work with both finance and operations teams
* Detail‑focused, organised and proactive
* A professional qualification would be advantageous, but it’s not essential
