Overall Purpose of the Job
Chester Cathedral receives no regular central government funding and only limited resources from the Church of England. As such, it relies significantly on income from its estate, donations, sponsorship, and external grants. With rising financial pressures and increasing ambitions for community engagement, heritage conservation, and programme delivery, effective and well-supported fundraising is critical.
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working methodically, and brings care and precision to their work. You’ll be organised, dependable, and able to see tasks through to completion. The Fundraising Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Fundraising Manager, helping to ensure the smooth running of the fundraising function. This role will be central to maintaining accurate data, stewarding supporters, managing communications for fundraising events and membership schemes, and supporting monitoring, evaluation and compliance activities that underpin ethical, effective and strategic fundraising. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a career in fundraising - with training and support provided.
Responsibilities
