Responsibilities
You do not need a medical background. You will handle a wide variety of calls and assess patient needs to give the best possible care. You will be detailed, efficient, assertive, and compassionate, and look after yourself and the team.
Main duties include:
* Provide NHS 111 health guidance and triage to callers
* Assess patient needs using NHS Pathways after training
* Support patients with a range of symptoms, including mental health crises, head injuries, sore throats, toothaches, strokes, and heart attacks
* Work within a dynamic, high-pressure environment
Qualifications
Essential:
* Good all-round education (e.g., 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English) or equivalent experience
* Experience in a customer/patient services environment or using computer systems
* Experience of using a telephone as a regular means of communication
Desirable:
* NHS Pathways Trained
* NVQ 2/3 in Customer Services or equivalent
* Experience in a call centre, knowledge of the operational area, rotating shifts, and/or experience in health/voluntary sectors; knowledge of first aid and/or anatomy
Additional information: Compliance with safeguarding requirements (role open to those over 18).
