Account Director

1920 Worldwide / London / Hybrid

A quick pre-read

This is an execution led seat. The strategy and the senior commercial relationships on these accounts sit with the founders, which is a good thing, because it is air cover for the delivery team. What we need is the person who takes that thinking, adds to it (all ideas welcome) and makes it real, on the accounts that matter most to us. If you want to lead the strategy, this is the wrong role. If you want to run the show on delivery, have some fun, make some money and grow from there, read on.

About 19201920 Worldwide is a growth and marketing services agency with a venture studio attached. We work with global brands on the work that matters most to them, from strategy and innovation through to marketing and activation, and we build and grow our own ventures alongside that. Everyone here owns real work and real client relationships. Over the years we have worked with the biggest companies on earth and the earliest of startups. We hate logo slides, but we are proud to have been retained by the likes of Heineken, Diageo, Unilever, UPS, Reebok and Cisco. Plus some startups youve never heard of !

The role

You own the day to day across two of our biggest B2B accounts. Both are global, both demanding, both central to what we do. You hold the relationships, run the planning and the budgets, brief and coordinate the teams, do some of the work (as do the founders) and keep everything moving. You will join the current account leads through a hands-on handover, then take both on as the responsible Account Director. You take the thinking, add to it, and make it land as great work. The upside? Being part of a high-performing high-energy team, around two of the most iconic brands you could put on your CV.

What you’ll own

• The client relationship and the day to day, on both accounts.

• Delivery on some of the projects plus planning, budgets and workflow.

• Briefing and coordinating internal and freelance teams.

• Raising your hand first when workload or priorities need managing.

Who we’re looking for: a delivery partner

The market tends to split people in two. Strategists who do not run delivery, and delivery leads who can’t adapt strategically. We are hiring for the space between. The person who can carry an existing strategy, someone who will get sh*t done and who knows when to flag that it does not hold.

You come from an integrated marketing background, comfortable across brand and activation rather than boxed into one specialism. You have worked in B2B, and have some experience in or around sponsorship, enough to understand rights holders and activation. You have serviced clients across industries and know how to become fluent in a client’s world fast, translating marketing into commercial results in their world. You know marketing funnels, moving from idea to conversion, and the value of being data led.

Most of all you are wired to own and deliver. You notice the status doc is missing and fix it before anyone asks. Senior enough to hold a room, but happy in the detail.

What this role is not, and where it goes wrong

For the sake of honesty, this is where it would not work:

• You confuse experience with expertise.

• You would rather lead than do.

• “Me” runs hotter than “we.”

• Accountability slips, on quality or on budget. On these accounts, AD means your business.

• Proactivity slips, on the small things and the big ones.

This is not a strategy or new-business seat, and it is not for sponsorship consultants who want to run the deals or hospitality directors whose world is guest programmes. The strategic and commercial layer is owned elsewhere.

Where it goes

Execution-led now, with a real path to senior autonomy and reward. As you prove yourself, you take full ownership of both accounts and grow into a wider, more strategic remit. We would rather hire someone with headroom than someone at their ceiling. And because we build ventures alongside the client work, there is a route to equity participation in what we create. That is rare at this level.

Working pattern

Full time, UK-based, hybrid, with London as your base for most of the week. One account needs some US East Coast cover, including the occasional evening call. There is flexibility around start times in return.

Package

£65,000 to £80,000 depending on experience, plus a performance bonus tied to delivery and account growth. Start date from 1 August 2026.
