Overview

Location: Unit 44, Clarks Village, Farm Rd, Street BA16 0BB. Availability: August / September 2025. Job Purpose: Assistant Store Manager (40 hours per week) at Samsonite Store, Samsonite Coleraine, United Kingdom.


Responsibilities

* Assists the store Manager in coordinating the daily operations of the store and the daily activities of the sales team.
* Offer Samsonite customers exceptional service by projecting a positive image of the Company at all times; in order to maximise sales and profitability.
* Maintain high standards in all spheres of responsibility within the branch.
* Contribute to the smooth running of the branch by supervising shop floor activities, administration, and staff development with Store Manager.
* Work jointly with the Manager to implement Company Policies and Procedures.
* Run the store in the absence of the Manager.


Key Accountabilities

* Customer Service/Sales: Offer advice on, and demonstrations of, Samsonite products in a professional manner to ensure a friendly shopping experience; maximise sales through product knowledge and add on sales; be knowledgeable about store layout, products and stock availability; handle customer enquiries and complaints in line with company policy; process transactions, refunds and exchanges per procedures; communicate sales figures and factors affecting trading conditions to managers; ensure promotions and product brochures are understood by staff; monitor shop floor activities to maintain service levels; be aware of sales targets.
* Stock/Merchandising: Process deliveries, maintain stockrooms, assist in layouts and displays, maintain a neat environment, signage usage, stock counts, and liaison with management to maintain stock packages.
* Personnel: Communicate professionally with staff; assist in daily work allocation, training, development, and performance management; support welfare and disciplinary processes as needed.
* Communication: Report on personnel, merchandise and operations; participate in monthly staff meetings; relay merchandise status and trends to managers and during Area Manager visits.
* Operation / Administrative: Open/close the store, daily banking, stock and personnel administration, handle phone inquiries, relay customer inquiries to Head Office, and complete regular audits.
* Security: Ensure safe and secure operation of the store, manage keys and alarms, address security issues, and work with management on losses prevention.
* House Keeping: Maintain branch standards, cleanliness and fixture care; ensure equipment is maintained.
* Attendance: Adhere to pre-shift preparation times, notify of lateness or absence, attend training as directed.
* Appearance: Maintain professional dress and ensure team adheres to dress code.
* Health & Safety: Act on accidents or hazards; check First Aid Kit and fire extinguishers for compliance.
* Additional Responsibilities: Perform duties as required by Management.


Qualifications / Skills

* Constant standing, bending, frequent lifting of luggage up to 15 kilos
