Social Work Assistant - Children in Care Team
Role Responsibility
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced Children in Care Service for a 9-month fixed-term full-time contract. You will be flexible, creative, and able to travel long distances at short notice.
Your role will involve supporting social workers in the Children in Care Team. Responsibilities include undertaking direct work with children, including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, assisting children with moving placements, covering family time, and conducting planned interventions with parents and carers. You should be able to respond quickly to change, build positive relationships with children, young people, parents, carers, and professionals. A 'can-do' attitude and teamwork skills are essential. You will receive excellent supervision and a range of developmental opportunities.
This role requires holding a Full UK Driving Licence. The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments; therefore, applications from individuals unable to drive due to disability will still be considered.
This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
As a customer-facing role, the post requires sufficient command of spoken English/Welsh to perform the job effectively, in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016). Standards are outlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
