Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Hybrid – site-based as required
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (DOE) + Car/Allowance
Key Responsibilities
Project & Commercial Management
* Take full ownership of projects from handover through to completion and final account agreement
* Manage contracts in line with JCT requirements, including notices, applications, and change control
* Maintain full P&L responsibility, including forecasting, cost control, and cashflow management
* Prepare and submit Applications for Payment, lead valuations, and secure timely payment
* Identify, price, and negotiate variations and final accounts
Programme & Delivery
* Develop and manage detailed project programmes aligned with key milestones
* Coordinate design, technical submissions, and approvals
* Oversee installation, commissioning, and handover of systems
* Ensure all project documentation, certification, and O&M manuals are delivered
Subcontractor Management
* Manage subcontractor procurement, performance, and commercial control
* Monitor progress, quality, and productivity, ensuring alignment with programme and margin
Client & Stakeholder Management
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and main contractors
* Provide regular progress and financial reporting
Health & Safety & Close-Out
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and RAMS
* Oversee project close-out, including documentation, training, and handover
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
* Proven delivery of fire and security projects under JCT contracts
* Strong commercial experience across the full project lifecycle
* Experience managing subcontractors on live construction sites
* Strong financial and commercial awareness (P&L, forecasting, cashflow)
Technical Knowledge
A strong grounding in fire alarm systems is essential, alongside experience in most of the following:
* Fire Alarms
* PAVA
* EVC
* Access Control
* CCTV
* Intruder Alarms
Desirable: Structured cabling / data infrastructure
Qualifications
* ECS Black Manager Card (or ability to obtain)
* SMSTS
* Valid ECS/CSCS Card
* NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) – desirable
