The role of the Driver Trainer is to train, educate, and update Tankfreight Drivers on methods, procedures, and legislation relevant to ensuring safe and efficient duties, including the preparation and delivery of driver CPC training. The successful candidate will be responsible for GB-based Drivers and should be able to work flexible hours.
Key Tasks
1. Assess potential drivers during recruitment and selection.
2. Induct and train newly recruited drivers on procedures, processes, and company principles, including health and safety policies.
3. Train drivers in loading/offloading liquid and powder tanks and specific delivery/collection procedures.
4. Train drivers on artic combinations, evaluate performance using telemetric systems, and conduct regular reviews.
5. Assess all company HGV drivers at least once a year.
6. Review, update, and retrain drivers on procedures and policies, including health and safety.
7. Ensure drivers are familiar with customer requirements.
8. Maintain driver appearance, uniform, and equipment standards.
9. Ensure vehicles are kept clean inside and out.
10. Conduct random drug and alcohol testing using in-house equipment.
11. Report health and safety issues and participate in related meetings.
12. Participate in CPC course development and instruction.
13. Assist with defect reporting, investigations, and damage assessments.
14. Assist with collections and deliveries when needed.
15. Hold a clean Class 1 (C & E) license.
16. Have experience in the bulk tanker industry, with operational knowledge of powder and liquid tankers.
17. Possess working knowledge of current transport legislation.
18. Have at least 1 year of LGV Driver training experience, including economic driving techniques and health and safety.
