Elysium Healthcare is looking for an experienced Chaplain to provide pastoral, spiritual, and religious supports to the patients at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington.
Working part time, 8 hours per week you will seek out and respond to the pastoral, spiritual and religious needs in a sensitive and personal basis.
You will have had recent pastoral experience in a local faith or belief setting or equivalent also with chaplaincy experience within a similar setting.
Your responsibilities:
* Build effective working relationships with multi-professional colleagues to ensure smooth flow of communication about the spiritual needs of patients and families.
* Identify and seek to address complex spiritual and religious needs in pastoral encounters.
* Provide religious support for patients and their families.
* Build effective relationships with faith representatives.
* Keep up to date with relevant chaplaincy/spiritual care research to ensure pastoral, spiritual and religious care is evidence-based.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Degree or equivalent in subject relevant to Healthcare Chaplaincy
* Experience in a similar setting
* Recent pastoral experience in a local faith or belief setting or equivalent.
* Counselling experience is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills
