Job Description
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Payroll professional who will be a key member of the People Services Management team responsible for managing the full range of payroll activities ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. This is an exciting, challenging and varied role for someone wishing to progress their career within a focused and passionate team.
3. Managing Payroll Systems: Ensuring payroll software is up-to-date, accurate, and functioning properly.
4. Payroll Processing: Ensuring the accurate calculation of salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (taxes, benefits, retirement contributions, etc.).
5. Compliance: Staying updated with tax laws, labor laws, and ensuring the organization complies with local, state, and federal requirements.
6. Employee Records: Maintaining and updating employee payroll information, such as tax withholding, direct deposit details, and benefits choices.
7. Reporting: Generating reports for finance and accounting teams, including tax filings, payroll costs, and other financial statements.
8. Team Leadership: Managing and training payroll staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
9. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Addressing any payroll-related issues or discrepancies reported by employees.
The Successful Applicant
10. Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in payroll processing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
11. In-depth knowledge of payroll software and systems.
12. Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
13. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
14. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
15. Ability to manage a team and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
16. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
