Head of Healthcare Oasis Restore Secure School

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Head of Healthcare to the Integrated Healthcare Service at Oasis Restore. We are looking for a leader that can work in line with 'Child First' principles. By joining our team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of the young people we care for, but also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well‑being for this population impacting their future successes.

We are looking for a highly energetic and robust leader who has a proven track record of delivering high quality services in either the NHS, Prison healthcare, social care or the private sector. The successful candidate will lead by example, commit to team and partnership working and will have the necessary skills to successfully lead a diverse multi‑disciplinary healthcare team. He / she will have excellent communication skills and will continue to modernise and develop the services within the establishment to meet the needs of the Young people that reside there.

Successful candidates will be invited for an interview during the week commencing 25/5/26. Interviews may be conducted either online or in person. In the case of an in‑person interview, it will last up to two hours and may require travel to London.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an experienced registered healthcare professional who has excellent staff management and leadership skills. As the Head of Healthcare will deliver excellent, high quality, age appropriate health and wellbeing services to young people residing at Oasis restore School to achieve a targeted and appropriate service, delivered in accordance with evidence‑based practice and local policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will hold overall responsibility for the delivery of high quality responsive healthcare services and will ensure they are compliant with clinical and financial governance frameworks. They will have responsibility for annual revenue budget and be responsible for ensuring performance, quality and integration in all aspects of healthcare delivery, including sub‑contracted services.

The post holder will proactively manage and lead the healthcare senior management team to further develop services, which are trauma‑informed and developmentally appropriate including sexual health, neuro‑disability, innovative health promotion, mental and psychological wellbeing.

* Registered healthcare professional
* Experience or demonstrated understanding of working with children or Young Adults
* Substantial post registration experience in a senior leadership role
* Resident in UK for 3 years or longer

Job responsibilities

The post holder will have responsibility for the management and delivery of integrated health services within ORSS. The post holder will work with the Head of CYPSL and HJS Directors to ensure that the strategic direction is effectively implemented at operational level. To lead change management in the implementation of service development strategies. The post holder will directly monitor and co‑coordinate the work of the healthcare team and be responsible for the delivery, performance and effectiveness of the service. Through inspirational leadership, the post holder will lead in the development of future plans, standards and systems for secure settings health services. This will be achieved by working collaboratively with the Commissioning Team and ORSS Director and team. The post holder will be required to deputise for the Head of CYPSL where appropriate and contribute to the management of operational requirements of ORSS. The post holder will be responsible for the healthcare budgets and ensure services are delivered according to the commissioned requirements. This will include managing the contracts in place with relevant sub‑contracted services. To identify and participate in the tendering for new business opportunities. To deliver robust financial management in line with Service, Divisional and Trust targets, including the realistic Cost Improvements Programmes (CIP). To prepare accurate financial information, in liaison with the Finance Department for inclusion within business cases and bids, as and when they arise. As a member of the Senior Management team, contribute to the establishment of new services that meet national and local requirements.


Person Specification


Education and Criteria

* Registered Nurse or any other professional qualification
* Educated to degree level or above or equivalent.
* Management Qualification
* Evidence of continuing professional development


Previous Experience

* Experience of a senior management position within healthcare services at Band 8A or equivalent
* Proven experience and achievement in managing a multi-disciplinary team including senior managers and clinicians
* Experience of organising and chairing steering groups
* Experience of working within statutory and other regulatory frameworks within which health and social care services operate and translating these at an operational level
* Experience of managing a diverse workforce
* Some experience and understanding of a criminal justice setting
