About us
As an Educational Psychologist or Senior Educational Psychologist for Leicester City Council, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary, diverse team that is friendly, supportive, and well-regarded, working in a unique and vibrant multi-cultural city.
Our EPs work in various areas including the virtual school, international new arrivals, anti-bullying (Positive Peaceful Places), and designated specialist provisions in mainstream settings.
What you’ll be involved with
We are engaged in exciting new initiatives, including collaborating with our local MHST team on an NHS-funded project to enhance mental health support in city schools. We play a key role in the LA EBSA strategy and work closely with our Children’s Hospital School.
As part of the Change Programme, we are exploring innovative approaches to the EHC assessment process, including collaboration with specialist teachers, to stay current with our EHCA workload.
Your development
All our EPs have protected time for professional development, including training, consultation, and local area strategy work with various partners. We also offer expanding ELSA training and supervision and encourage staff to pursue areas of professional interest.
We collaborate with city schools through a link EP arrangement, fostering creative psychology delivery and new working methods. EPs and TEPs can work together on initiatives like PATH and Circle of Adults, and we are advancing our work on culturally responsive and anti-racist practices.
Our training offerings are being refined to address current challenges in schools, including workshops for parents and staff on topics such as EBSA, neuro-affirming practice, precision teaching, and staff wellbeing.
The roles
We have full-time and part-time permanent positions available. We welcome applications from experienced EPs seeking senior roles, as well as newly qualified EPs or those in training eager to explore innovative approaches. An enhanced DBS check is required. We look forward to working with you.
