Responsibilities
* Demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge of the speech and language therapy process and the skills necessary for the management of a range of speech, language and communication (SLC) difficulties.
* Manage a caseload of children with a variety of SLC difficulties, including occasional complex cases; all cases are overseen by a senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT).
* Participate in the management (assessment, treatment, general management and discharge planning) of children referred to the service.
* Provide support, guidance and information to parents and professionals regarding speech, language and communication.
About The Role
This position is part of a Paediatric Community Speech and Language Team based across Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth. The team works in clinics, schools, and childrens homes to provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people aged 0‑19 years. Therapists collaborate with nurses and other therapists to improve outcomes for children.
The role offers good support, regular clinical supervision and access to external training opportunities.
