Are you passionate about music education and inspiring young people through instrumental tuition? North Yorkshire Music Service is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Percussion Instrumental and Music Centre Instructors to join our dynamic team.
The post would be a mixture of teaching individual lessons and small groups, as well as conducting some of our ensembles.
We are a thriving music centre, with a longstanding tradition of producing excellent ensembles, for all ages and level of ability.
About the Role
As an Instrumental Instructor, you will:
* Deliver high-quality instrumental or vocal lessons to individuals and small groups in schools and other settings.
* Prepare students for graded music exams (e.g. ABRSM, GCSE).
* Provide regular feedback to pupils, parents, and schools through reports and practice diaries.
* Promote wider musical opportunities including ensembles and music centres.
* Plan and organise your own teaching timetable and lesson series.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Grade 8 ABRSM or equivalent on at least one instrument.
* Strong knowledge of instrumental repertoire and teaching strategies.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to travel across the county and work flexibly, including evenings/weekends.
Desirable:
* Degree or postgraduate qualification in music/performance.
* Ability to teach/play more than one instrument.
* Experience in safeguarding and partnership working.
