Job Title: EMEA Billing Team Leader
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid: 2 days in-office)
About the role
We are looking for an experienced EMEA Billing Team Leader to join BSI’s Finance Business Services team. In this role you will lead the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant customer invoicing and credit note activity across a portfolio of EMEA client ledgers.
Reporting to the EMEA Billing Manager, you will manage a team of Billing Specialists and Senior Billing Specialists, ensuring billing activity is prioritised effectively, service levels are met and strong controls and governance are maintained across multiple countries.
You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Contracting, Master Data, Credit & Collections and Finance teams to deliver high quality billing while improving processes and preventing downstream issues such as disputes or delayed payments.

Responsibilities
1. Lead the day to day delivery of EMEA billing operations, ensuring invoices and credit notes are accurate, timely and compliant
2. Manage and develop a team of Billing Specialists and Senior Billing Specialists, providing coaching, performance management and development support
3. Translate priorities from the EMEA Billing Manager into daily and weekly team plans, ensuring work is prioritised and delivered on time
4. Monitor and deliver key billing KPIs including invoice timeliness, right first time accuracy, backlog levels and credit note volumes
5. Ensure invoices and credit notes are raised in accordance with contract terms, pricing structures, tax requirements and statutory regulations
6. Oversee billing queries and disputes, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and root causes are addressed
7. Ensure compliance with local statutory invoicing rules, VAT and indirect tax requirements across multiple EMEA countries
8. Maintain strong billing controls including approvals, documentation standards and evidence retention
9. Support month end and year end billing activities including cut offs, backlog management and financial reporting inputs
10. Partner with Credit & Collections, Cash Application and Operations teams to prevent billing errors and improve cash flow outcomes
11. Identify opportunities to improve processes, standardise workflows and support ERP or Order to Cash transformation initiatives
12. Ensure high standards of billing quality through regular quality assurance and team coaching
To be successful in the role you will have
13. Previous experience withinBilling, Accounts Receivable or Finance Operations, ideally within a team leadership role
14. Experience managing billing teams and delivering results against operational KPIs
15. Strong understanding of complex billing processes including contracts, pricing structures and invoicing requirements
16. Experience working across multiple currencies, countries or international ledgers
17. Knowledge of VAT, indirect tax or statutory invoicing requirements
18. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner with Sales, Operations and Finance teams
19. Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas
20. Experience working with finance systems such as SAP or similar ERP platforms
21. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
22. AAT or equivalent finance qualification is desirable
