An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Assistant to join a large-scale enterprise system transformation programme within aplex, fast‑moving organisation. This role will suit someone who enjoys working at the heart of change — supporting procurement activity, analysing spend, improving processes and helping stakeholders transition to new systems and ways of working.
Due to the location of this vacancy, you must be based in the central belt area of Scotland to apply. Applications outside this area will be rejected.
Your new role
Working closely with a central programme team and senior procurement stakeholders, you will play a key part in ensuring procurement activity is efficient,pliant and aligned to new systems and best practice. You will be involved in the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle, data and reporting, and supporting users through a major system change.Your duties will include but not limited to:
1. Supporting procurement activity across a large transformation programme
2. Analysing spend data to support cost control and informed decision‑making
3. Preparing tender and minipetition documentation and supporting contract set‑up
4. Assisting with the creation and maintenance of supplier catalogues
5. Gathering and coordinatingmercial, technical and legal information
6. Working with data teams to support procurement data migration
7. Supporting users transitioning from legacy finance systems to a new platform
8. Ensuring adherence to procurement policies,ernance and controls
9. Contributing to continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
10. Recent experience working in a procurement environment
11. Strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, particularly procurement
12. Experience usingputerised finance systems
13. Confident data analysis skills, including strong Excel capability
14. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
15. A proactive, analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes
16. Strongmunication skills and a customer‑focused approach
17. An understanding ofernance, control and risk
