We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Hairdresser to join our care home team covering a period of maternity leave, where you’ll provide high‑quality hairdressing and nail care services to our wonderful residents.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay: £14.49 per hour
Contract: Full‑time/Maternity Cover (starting 10 June 2026)

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll create a relaxing, respectful experience for residents while offering:
Hairdressing services
* Washing, cutting, styling, and setting.
* Gentle treatments suitable for elderly hair and sensitive scalps.
Basic nail care
* Nail trimming, shaping, filing, and buffing.
* Applying nail polish where appropriate.
You’ll also:
* Work sensitively with residents who may have mobility issues, dementia, or other care needs.
* Maintain excellent hygiene and infection control standards.
* Keep your work areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
* Help create a warm, friendly atmosphere where residents feel valued and pampered.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
* Qualified or experienced hairdresser (NVQ or equivalent preferred).
* Essential experience with nail care.
* Experience working with older people or in a care setting (desirable, but not essential).
* A patient, kind, and professional manner.
* Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices.
