Hywel Dda University Health Board are looking for a Clinical Lead Dietitian to join the Community dieteticservice. The role involves close collaborative workingwithclinicallead community dietitians to ensure cohesive aligned community service across the health board involving quality improvement projects, audit and research.

The successful applicant will become an integral member of the dietetic team working to ensureoptimalnutritional care for patients as a key determinant of recovery andoutcome. AtHywelDda University Health Boardweguaranteeacommitmenttoyourprofessional and personal development,regular managementandpractice supervision, a friendly working environmentandflexiblehybridworkingarrangements where possible.


Main duties of the job

* Deliver expert level community dietetics; managing a highly complex caseload, informing multi-disciplinary care and providing expert support, advice and clinical supervision for dietitians and other healthcare professionals, Health Board wide.
* Clinically lead on designated specialist areas of community Nutrition and Dietetics Health Board wide.
* Operationally team lead, and line manage a community dietetic team; including registered and unregistered team members.
* Work as an integral member of multi-professional community clinical leadership teams; driving excellent nutritional care through evidence-based practice.
* Act as an expert in community Nutrition and Dietetics; informing and taking a delegated lead on nutrition policy development, training and education, quality improvement and aligning services to National, Health Board and Professional strategy and guidance.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Our services are provided in:

* Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
* Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
* Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
* 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
* Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services

Person Specification


Qualifications & Knowledge

* HCPC registration with a degree in Dietetics
* Expert clinical knowledge of community nutritional care and dietetics, including home enteral feeding, qualifications acquired through specialist training or equivalent clinical experience to Master's level or equivalent
* Completed the clinical supervisory course
* Knowledge of, and ability to apply evidence-based methodology to support improvement, and service delivery
* Expert knowledge of clinical guidance and policy relevant to the specialist area
* Master's qualification - Advanced Clinical Practice
* Leadership training


Experience

* Extensive and broad clinical dietetic delivery in community settings
* Significant experience of managing a highly complex and unpredictable clinical caseload using advanced clinical reasoning
* Line Management
* Team leadership
* Planning and delivering specialist clinical knowledge-based education and training
* Delivering clinical supervision
* Delegation to unregistered staff
* Leading project / quality improvement / development work, with demonstrable outcomes
* Student training
* Research / clinical audit
* Interpreting evidence into clinical practice
* Active involvement in national work stream, professional network or specialist group


Other

* Flexible approach to meet the needs of the service
* Able to travel to provide specialist support / cross site cover
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
