Responsibilities
* This role is approximately 60% clinically focused, delivering physiotherapy interventions to children on a caseload, including individual and group sessions, motor coordination groups and hydrotherapy, under guidance of a qualified therapist.
* Clinical responsibilities include monitoring and reviewing physiotherapy goals, maintaining accurate electronic patient records, and reporting outcomes to therapists, while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, education staff and families to support children with complex health needs.
* Remaining 40% is administrative and service support: monitoring telephone line, responding to emails and enquiries, supporting appointment coordination, and contributing to efficient organisation of specialist clinics and groups.
* Administrative duties include ordering and maintaining equipment, ensuring clinical environments are safely prepared per risk assessments and manual handling requirements, and contributing to service development.
* Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills are essential to ensure effective service delivery and clear, sensitive communication with children and carers.
Main Duties
* Support the Paediatric Physiotherapy Team by providing effective administrative and clinical assistance to ensure smooth day-to-day running of therapy clinics and delivery of high‑quality care to children and families in Richmond Borough.
* Provide hands‑on treatment to children as directed by a Paediatric Physiotherapist, accurately record interventions and patient responses, and collaborate within the multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy colleagues.
* Work independently across settings, including clinics, schools, homes, gyms and hydrotherapy pools.
Qualifications
* GCSE in English and Maths of 4+ or equivalent.
* Relevant qualification in healthcare or child development.
Experience
* Experience working with children.
* Experience and/or interest in working with children with complex needs.
Knowledge and Skills
* Experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrate ability to work flexibly and prioritise tasks.
* Can manage difficult conversations and stressful situations calmly.
* Demonstrate good organisational skills.
