The Addington Hostel has been providing housing for men for the last 130 years in Christchurch. We are a 24-hour staffed site with Support workers as a core part of our team across the day and night.
About the Role:
We are seeking 2 casual Support workers to join our team. You will provide cover for staff on holiday, sick leave, or training, primarily during afternoon and night shifts, including weekends. You will work alongside other Support workers to oversee the practical day-to-day needs of the hostel and its residents.
Responsibilities include:
* Medication allocation
* Food services
* Supporting residents in their recovery journey
* Ensuring site security and safety of residents
* Managing daily operational needs of the hostel
Ideal Candidate:
* Must have completed at least the Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or approved equivalent)
* Must be undertaking or have completed the Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or approved equivalent)
* At least 1 year of experience in Support work within related fields such as Housing, Mental Health, Addictions, or Corrections
* Comfortable working in an all-male hostel environment (note that the majority of staff are female)
* Availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed

The starting hourly rate ranges from $26.94 (Level 3) to $29.10 (Level 4).
